He has reached an audience of over 17 million on more than 900 public radio stations and performed live each week for 40 years. A prolific author and poet, he is the recipient of numerous honors, including the National Humanities Medal and induction into the Radio Hall of Fame at Chicago’s Museum of Broadcast Communications.
